Adelaide City through Adelaide Hills & Barossa Winefields to Bungaree Station
Highlights:
• Hoffnungsthal – First German settlement in Barossa Valley
• Lyndoch Lavender Farm
• Scenic lookout at Steingarten, high above the Barossa Valley
• Boutique Wineries - Liebich Wein & Grant Burge– time to sample & purchase
• Maggie Beers Farm Shop for exceptional lunch
• Kapunda – Sir Sidney Kidmans Headquarters & Eringa No 2

Day 2
Bungaree Station through Clare Valley Wheatfields to Rawnsley Park
Highlights:
• Bungaree Station Tour – Hawker Family Dynasty History
• R M Williams Way
• Lunch at Cradock Hotel – our first Bush Pub
• Elder Range – part of the Flinders Ranges
• Rawnsley Park Station – southern side of Wilpena Pound
• Time for walks at Rawnsley Park

Day 3
Rawnsley Park through the Flinders Ranges to Parachilna

• Blinman Mine & Town
• Prairie Hotel at Parachilna
Overnight comfortable, almost in the outback accommodation in the Unique & Well known “Prairie Hotel”

 
Day 4
Parachilna, Oodnadatta Track Wilderness to William Creek
Highlights:
• Leigh Creek Lookout – massive open cut coalmine
• Farina – Village Ruins (Goyders Line of rainfall)
• Hergott Springs & Marree – Tom Kruse, Birdsville Mailmans’ Home town
• Lake Eyre South Lookout
• Blanche Cup & The Bubbler Mound Springs

Day 5
William Creek
Highlights:
• William Creek
• Scenic 2 hour Flight over Lake Eyre – optional extra. Own expense
• After flight a free day at William Creek. (4WD day trip to Halligan Bay on Lake Eyre is an optional possibility, depending on access and consensus of Ossies Travellers).

William Creek onto Oodnadatta

Day 7
Oodnadatta through the vast wilderness to Mt Dare Hotel
Highlights:
• Oodnadatta Museum
• Eringa Ruins & Billabong. John McDouall Stuart camped here many times. Sidney Kidmans favourite station
• Bloods Creek
• Mt Dare Hotel – man made oasis in the outback

Day 8
Mt Dare Hotel to vast desert dunes, returning to Mt Dare Hotel
Highlights:
• Unique day trip to the raw dunes along the French Line
• Traverse country rarely experienced by Australian & International travellers
• Gibber (rock) strewn tracks & countryside; 360 degree distant horizons
• Unusual trees. Coolibahs & Red Mulgas
• Man made desert wetlands Purni Bore, nestled between sand dunes
• Rig Road to the French Line from Wonga Corner.
• French Line enables you to experience vistas, peacefulness & tranquillity only found here in the largest Sand Dune desert in the World.
• Lunch on top of a sand dune, as you appreciate what tiny specks we are in the never ending landscape.
Return to the oasis of Mt Dare Hotel late in the afternoon, overawed by the most unusual day tour you will ever experience.

Mt Dare, from the Old Ghan to New Ghan in the NT, to Umbearra.

• Finke/Apatula – Old Ghan Rail Town, beside the worlds oldest river
• Lambert Centre – Australian Geographical Balance Point

Day 10
Umbearra, along red sand road, to bitumen road at Ayers Rock
Highlights:
• Original Gunbarrel Hwy starting point – we remember Len Beadell
• Musgrave Ranges
• Ayers Rock walks & sightseeing
• Sunset at Ayers Rock (Uluru) – Traditional Tourist experience
Overnight Accommodation at Yulara (Ayers Rock Resort)

Day 11
Ayers Rock to Kings Canyon
Highlights:
• Sunrise in Uluru ~ Kata Tjuta National Park
• Walpa Gorge walk at the Olgas
• 350km drive to Kings Canyon
• Kings Canyon Rim Walk and/or Helicopter Flight (own expense)

Day 12
Our last red sand road, from Kings Canyon through Finke Gorge National Park, to Alice Springs

• Running Waters on Finke River – permanent Waterhole
• Finke Gorge National Park
• “Boggy Hole” Billabong – permanent Waterhole
• Hermannsburg (From Hoffnungsthal Day 1 to Hermannsburg Day 12)
